A new Photonics cluster initiative is being created in Ukraine

On May 18, an online meeting of representatives of the Ukrainian Cluster Alliance, the Polish Photonics Platform and the German OptecBB cluster took place. As a result of the meeting, a decision was made to create a Ukrainian photonics cluster. Oleksandr Bondarenko from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute became the coordinator of the initiative.

Today is a great day in the Ukraine-EU-USA industrial hi-tech collaboration. In the USA, at the CSIA conference, Alex Chausovskyengaged seven new members, companies from CSIA, for APPAU. At the same time, Mike Richardson from Germany’s OptecBB became a real trigger in the launch of the new cluster initiative “Photonics”.

Oleksandr Yurchak, CEO of UCA comments in his Facebook post

The majority of participants from the Kyiv Scientific Institutes, KPI, Vinnytsia Cluster, United Space Clusters and the RC “Dual-Purpose Technologies” of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences agreed to create a new initiative. Oleksandr Bondarenko from KPI became the leader. And I see for the first time that new cluster initiatives can arise from the submission of foreign partners. Sincere thanks and congratulations.”
