Yermakov Oleg Yevgenovich, a leading researcher in the field of photonics at the Kharkiv National V. N. Karazin University and the Leibniz Institute of Photon Technologies (Germany). He studied at Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin and the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (Switzerland). Member of international communities Optica, SPIE, IEEE, American Physical Society, European Microwave Association. In 2015, he predicted the existence of a new type of surface electromagnetic waves, which were experimentally confirmed in 2017-2018. In 2021, his work, which demonstrated a 10,000-fold enhancement of light capture in an optical fiber, was recognized among the top 30 most important world researches in optics and photonics.
